BIKE TRAILS – Mesabi Bike Trail
With the trail head in Grand Rapids, the Mesabi Trail passes through 25 communities on its 132 mile journey to Ely. The Mesabi Trail is the premier bike trail in Minnesota with its rugged landscape resulting from generations of iron ore mining. Each of the communities along the trail offer their own unique treasures including restaurants to refuel and many historical and natural landmarks to soak in. Day and season passes to the Mesabi Trail are available at Timberlake Lodge.

MacRostie Art Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to community growth through the arts in northern Minnesota. Forest History Center
Located less than 3 miles away from the Timberlake Lodge. This historic site offers a variety of interactive activities to broaden one’s understanding and appreciation for Minnesota’s forests and the people for lived and worked in them over 100 years ago. Many visitors spend 2-3 hours exploring the exhibits, self guided walking tour and ‘living history’ feature. MN Discovery Center – Chisholm, MN
Minnesota Discovery Center is a non-profit institute and the state’s largest museum complex outside of the Twin Cities. The 660 acre museum tells the story of the Iron Range, its people and its culture through its exhibits, interpretation, programming and research materials.
